Amittil Capital: Amittil Location: Dominant Climate: Population: 127,000 Population Diversity: Humans - 87% Elves - 1% Dwarves - .5% Gnomes - 10% Halflings - 1.5% Area of Influence: Officially, Amittil claims everything from thirty miles north and one-hundred fifty mile east of the city, and south and west to the coasts. In actuality, they are capable of controling little better than the immediate area around the city and the coasts of the lake Harodoras. The swamps and marshes directly south of the city is a savage no-man's land filled with undead and fell beasts. Goverment: Amittil is a thaumatocratic theocracy, ruled by a cabal of wizards, sorcerers, and clerics. The only real duty that the government performs is the defense of the nation, taxation, and the upkeep of the colleges and seminaries. Features of Note: The current city of Amittil is a newer site of that nation's capital, the original city lies in the swamps south of the lake Harodoras. The old city is a delapidated ruin, filled with many old treasure houses and safeholds. The rulers in the new city would pay very handsomely to gain access to these storehouses and the wealth that is purported to exist there. The swamps are home to many dire creatures and exotic plants with properties herbalists and druids would find extremely useful. An enterprizing adventurer who doesn't mind the possibility of getting killed could become quite wealthy by procuring samples for interested parties.
